2020 looks to be the year of 8K-ready AV receivers. In our previous videos earlier this year, we highlighted how Denon and Marantz were one the first few brand’s to launch 8K-ready AV receivers. Now, Yamaha unleashes its offering. These AV receivers from Yamaha pack a host of new features to upgrade your gaming, home theater and music listening experience.

Both the new models support 8K @ 60Hz and 4K @ 120Hz video pass-through. The RX-V6A & RX-V4A are equipped to take advantage of the latest HDMI technologies. They support the new HDR format including HDR10+, the older HDR10, Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG), Dolby Vision, 4:4:4 Pure Color subsampling, BT.2020 pass-through and HDCP 2.3. They also support an all new HDMI feature called Quick Media Switching (QMS), which allows a source to instantly adjust the resolution or frame rate to eliminate screen blackouts. The Yamaha RX-V6A & RX-V4A receivers also support eARC or enhanced audio return channel that allows transmission of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X from TV apps or connected devices using a single HDMI cable.
