How To Install the K&N Blackhawk Air Intake System

Video Transcription:
Hey, guys. John here, with Realtruck.com. Today, we get to have some fun and get under the hood of our Ram project truck. We have the K&N Blackhawk Air Intake System.

We've got everything laid out that we need for our air intake system. So next step is to go ahead and get this on the truck. Like any installation project, the first thing we got to do is we got to get this old stuff out from under the hood of the truck, so we can get our new K&N Blackhawk in the truck. We'll go ahead and unplug our sensors. Then we're going to take our clamps loose. Then we'll go ahead and take our air box cover off. We'll get our air box itself up and out of here.

Now that we have our old intake system out of the truck, we got to get our sensor out of here so we can install it into our new air tube. So the way you got to do it on this particular truck, and you guys got to have to look at this because it's going to vary depending upon model and engine. This one... You want to take a pair of pliers, and you gently do this because these are plastic and will break if you squeeze down on them. Just give it a little turn, counterclockwise, and that'll allow that sensor to pull out of there.

We've got our sensor. We've got our new air intake tube. So what we're going to do is we're going to start putting this thing together. What I do is I just take a little bit of petroleum jelly and put it around the edges because that will allow our grommet to slide into the hole a lot easier without having to fight with it so much.

Now once that's popped in there, then we take and put a little bit around here. There's a rubber O ring on here. Once this is installed, then we can move onto the next opening on our new intake tube, and that's where our breather vent is going to go. We're just going to take this, and we're actually just going to screw it right into here because this is already threaded and designed for this to go in. This also is plastic. So don't just go cranking on it when you put it in here. Just tighten it down until it's snug. Now we've got this together and ready to go. 866-554-0581 Free shipping for orders over $100!
