Parinda Khatri, PhD, Director of Integrated Care at Cherokee Health Systems, discusses how their primary care clinics integrated behavioral health services in order to provide more comprehensive care for their patients to not only meet all of their healthcare needs but also improve their quality of life. By having behavioral health providers and primary care providers working side-by-side, they are able to address not only the medical health of their patients but also their behavioral health needs such as depression and other mental health problems as well as helping patients manage chronic illnesses and make lifestyle changes to improve their overall health and well-being.
