The Egyptian government has thanked Bedouin leaders for helping to secure the release of seven kidnapped officers in the Sinai Peninsula.



Bedouin tribes have been enjoying greater influence in the region since the revolution more than two years ago.



In some areas they have even set up their own court system.



Al Jazeera's Nicole Johnston reports from Northern Sinai.
