"By the way, I did end up getting the distributor seated to stock specifications, I just didn't lock the housing to the pulse ring with the drift pin like the book says. I just undercompensated by a tooth and then rotated the housing back one-tooth's worth until everything lined up as it was supposed to be in the book."

Set to #1 TDC on both valves and piston, installed timing chain correctly, but this is what happens with the distributor.....
