Chasing 50 knots - Ep2 - Lüderitz Speed Challenge

I'm delighted to finally share this edit of my journey to the Lüderitz Speed Challenge in Namibia, to try and break the 50 knot (92.6kmh) barrier.

My sole aim was to join the fastest windsurfers in the world, at the fastest piece of water in the world, and then in full-power perfect conditions - see what was possible / where my limits are.

The trip turned out to be epic in every sense. The traveling - flying 10,000 km to Cape Town and then driving 1,100km North through South Africa and Namibia - was worth every moment. Even if I had never got on the water, I would do it all again. I could have made this movie half an hour long and not shown any sailing & I still feel like I've barely scratched the surface of this amazing country.

This video is part speedsailing diary, part travelogue. I hope that it gives a sense of how awesome the Lüderitz Speed Challenge and Namibia are.

But most of all, I also hope it inspires you to get on the water and push your level!

Like everything in windsurfing... once you achieve one goal, then a new one immediately becomes a possibility. For me, the next one to aim for: 100kph and 50 knots over 500m.
