Why are there so few Women in Wildlife Photography?

Wildlife photography is still largely men-nominated (and the disparity is even greater when looking at the professional level).

But do people realise this? And which are the reasons why there are less women wildlife photographers? Are the challenges specific to genders (not only women, but also men and non-binary) people face while doing wildlife photography?

To answer these questions I conducted a survey within the Wildlife Photographers community, asking about their experience and perception on the issue. In the video I summarise the data, some of the answers received and share my experience as a female wildlife photographer.

This video is just my little attempt to initiate a conversation and raise awareness - the first steps to achieve equality and break the stereotypes and the vicious gender bias circles.
