Exploring the U P part 4 Kitch-iti-kipi, Indian Lake, Peninsula Point, Marquette, Sand Point Beach

What a busy day we had! First stop, Palms Brook State Park and the Kitch-iti-kipi Spring! The spring is 40 feet deep, 200 feet wide and a constant 45°. This spring rarely freezes during Michigan winters. The waters are a teal green and crystal clear allowing you to see straight to the bottom! The water gets its color from the limestone rock it travels through before bursting through fissures at the constant rate of 10,000 gallons/ minute! The spring empties into a stream that feeds the Indian Lake.
Next we made a quick stop at Indian Lake.
From there we were heading to the town of Marquette until we made a u turn and followed the signs to Peninsula Point where we had a scenic picnic lunch, explored the point and climbed a lighthouse!
Marquette is one of the larger towns in the U P offering shopping, dining, culture, museums, and year round outdoor activities! We just drove along the outskirts of town and enjoyed the water views!
We had dinner back at the campground, Pictured Rocks RV Park, and spent a beautiful evening at Sand Point Beach.
