Did the Economy grow faster under the last UPA-2 government under Manmohan Singh than the current Modi government? A panel of Economists and Government officials called the Committee on Real Sector Statistics presented its report late last week and it basically gave the back series of GDP figures as per the new base year of 2010-11. The report suggests that average growth rate during UPA 1 was 8.4% and that during UPA-2 was 7.7%, compare this to the current Modi Government under which the average growth rate is 7.3%.
