HEROIC Gara'jal the Spiritbinder (10-man) - Brewmaster Monk PoV - HD

This is our first kill of HEROIC Gara'jal the Spiritbinder (10-man) as a guild.

Guild: The Machine of Sylvanas-EU (Horde).

We used 2 tanks, 2 healers and 6 dps for this.

So, yeah - I rerolled Monk. I did not expect this reroll, and I have not prepared for playing a Monk and definitely not a Tank at all this summer, but nevertheless it has been a lot of fun so far.

First of all, due to my lack of experience playing a Monk and tank in a raiding enviroment, I would definitely not use this video for tactical guidance or a how-to-spend-your-GCDs-video. At this point in time, I spend SO MUCH time looking at my timers and shit it is ridiculous.

Nevertheless, the thought is - like I did in Cataclysm - to get videos out from all of the heroic first kills I participate in throughout MoP, so hopefully the level of play will raise eventually.

Anyways, my idea for this fight was to reforge full Mastery because of Stagger being extremely OP for this fight, but due to the high dps requirements in 10-man (even from the tank) I decided to go for Haste and Crit. I probably wouldn't have done this if I was the one finishing the fight tanking.

As we pull the boss, I start as the off-tank where my sole purpose is to push as much dps as I can whilst building an immense amount of Shuffle. This is also the reason I stay in tank stance. When it's my turn to tank, I rotate defensives so I minimize the amount of dmg I take (and thus the raid). Dampen Harm is very strong for this! As I enter the "shadow realm" or w/e it's called, my idea was to kill off as many Shadowy Minions as I could before using Touch of Death on my own Severer of Souls in the very last second.

When off-tanking in the last nuke phase (but also in general), the idea was to pop Avert Harm to reduce the dmg the raid takes. Zen Meditation doesn't seem to work (and yes, it was the first time I tested it in the kill video). I also specced into Zen Sphere for the extra burst healing when nessecary.
