The Lightforged Draenei are one of the playable Alliance allied races in World of Warcraft, introduced at the end of Legion. Unlike their brethren who took the Exodar to flee from the Burning Legion in search of allies, these draenei joined the naaru in battling demons across the cosmos, forming the Army of the Light. Their bodies are infused with the very essence of the Holy Light after undergoing a ritual to become Lightforged. After achieving victory on Argus, the Army of the Light joined the Alliance.
Lightforged Draenei begin aboard the Vindicaar before reporting to their faction's embassy (much like all other allied races). The brave elekk mounts they tend to ride are lightforged as well. These draenei speak the language named after them, but they are able to speak Common too.
Alliance:
The Alliance (also called the Grand Alliance) is one of two major political factions of the mortal races in Azeroth, its counterpart being the Horde which the Alliance has traditionally been at war with. Driven by tradition, the Alliance consists of powerful cultures and groups bound not by desperation or necessity, but by their deep commitments to abstract concepts like nobility, honor, faith, justice, and sacrifice. Striving to represent these high ideals, its many different peoples all contribute their technical, arcane, and spiritual wisdom toward the shared goal of preserving order on Azeroth and creating a peaceful and just world.
World of Warcraft::
World of Warcraft (WoW) is a 2004 massively multiplayer online role-playing (MMORPG) video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment for Windows and macOS. Set in the Warcraft fantasy universe, World of Warcraft takes place within the fictional planet Azeroth, approximately four years after the events of the previous game in the series, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. The game was announced in 2001, and was released for the 10th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise on November 23, 2004. Since launch, World of Warcraft has had ten major expansion packs: The Burning Crusade (2007), Wrath of the Lich King (2008), Cataclysm (2010), Mists of Pandaria (2012), Warlords of Draenor (2014), Legion (2016), Battle for Azeroth (2018), Shadowlands (2020), Dragonflight (2022), and The War Within (2024). Two further expansions, Midnight (2016) and The Last Titan, were announced in 2023.
Following the defeat of Archimonde at Hellfire Citadel in an alternate timeline Draenor, the orc warlock Gul'dan was transported to the main timeline Azeroth. Gul'dan invaded the Vault of the Wardens, a prison used to contain dangerous beings from across Azeroth, with the help of the traitorous former Watcher Cordana Felsong, whom he had successfully corrupted to his side back on Draenor. In desperation, the wardens released the "Illidari"; demon hunters that use fel power, to help fight against the Burning Legion. Despite this, Gul'dan was successfully able to steal the body of Illidan Stormrage and traveled to the nearby Tomb of Sargeras and opened a massive portal, thereby allowing the Burning Legion to invade Azeroth.
