"Out of the ashes of two Western Mass bands comes Hoax; a gang of local miscreants, the two most well know being Ian of Aerosols & Sean of SQRM. Crushing, noise-induced sludge punk...The riffage is not too unlike Ian's other project Raw Moon...it falls somewhere in between 80's UK D-beat & early Bathory but without all the blast beats. The incredibly misanthropic lyrics of self loathing become hard to take seriously at some points, especially since every song is essentially about suicide, how's this guy still alive?
