Hey all! For this week's Nightfall, I went with Strange Terrain, and I'm on the Warlock, with the modifiers of Arc Burn and Grenadier, as well as the currently broken handicap system, running a max power handicap of 110 to get a 4.55 score multiplier. Basically, you don't suffer any penalty for doing this, so you can more or less get an easy 100k score this week just doing what you normally do, without any added trouble.
Boss Fight: 10:15
Rewards: 18:25
Now, I wanted to switch it up a little this time, so I'm using Grenadier combined with a Crown of Tempests to buff my ability recharge beyond what Grenadier already does. I'm also using the new Black Armory heavy machine gun, the Hammerhead. So, this is my first time doing Strange Terrain as a solo, and I didn't have the best result. Ran a little long in spots, screwed up my grenades, etc., etc., but I got it done nonetheless.
The opening areas aren't too much trouble, just about add management and playing it smart. There are a few spots where you can get tied down for awhile. The first is the Ogre takedown right before the boss. There's a lot of enemies here, a lot of majors, and they're doing pretty good damage to you, while you're trying to destroy the crystals shielding the Ogre. I think with a Heavyweight modifier this might have gone smoother, maybe not. I'll have to test that out the next time. And then there's the boss fight, which repeats the process of taking down crystals to damage the boss, along with waves of adds each time. Again, maybe Heavyweight would work better here, although I feel like the grenades did a good job of managing things--- when I used them effectively, that is. Couple of places I made some mistakes, timing being off, but again, first time doing this particular Nightfall as a solo... I'm not too upset by it.
Thank you very much for watching, and good luck on your own Nightfall run!
