Indra Jatra is one of the most vibrant festivals celebrated among the Newar community in Kathmandu valley. The festival was supposed to begin on 30th August this year.
However, conceding to the rising COVID-19 cases in the valley, Indra Jatra festival is being called off this year.
At this very moment, it is understandable to not celebrate it as there will be hordes of onlookers. Meanwhile, it is a very saddening news to all of us who have awaited a year long and are deeply tied to the values of this celebration☹️❤️
