Off Center Record Pressing? How to Spot One & What to Do Next

Описание к видео Off Center Record Pressing? How to Spot One & What to Do Next

Today we talk about off-center record pressings.

A record pressed off-center – meaning the spindle hole is not central to the grooves stamped on the vinyl – is a glaring pressing error that will result in small speed discrepancies as the disc spin causing audible wow and flutter pitch drift. You’ll hear it loud and clear on longer, more drawn-out notes or chords.

As a simple demonstration, I show you how to spot a record with an off-center spindle hole using two copies of the same record. One is perfectly central and the other is, sadly, punched off-center.

Do you have any off-center records in your collection? Let us know in the comments below. How often do you encounter this issue?
