Bhanupali-Bilaspur-Beri New Line Project is being executed by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited. Out of 63.10 km alignment, 49 km of rail line lies in Himachal Pradesh. Branching out from the existing railway line at the Bhanupali, Punjab on the Sirhind-Nangal Dam section of the Northern Railway, the proposed rail line will cross the state boundary and will reach Beri via Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh. The new railway line passes through challenging hill terrain of the lower Himalayas. International consultants and Institutes of repute like IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi, and NIRM Bengaluru have also been associated with this project at different stages in the fields of alignment design, tunneling, geology, and geotechnical considerations. The proposed electrified BG rail line shall enable regional development through the connectivity of Himachal Pradesh with the national railway network. This shall be a gateway to connect the international borders towards Leh for strategic purposes.
Presently, the construction activities on Tunnels, Important Bridges, Earthwork & Allied Activities are in progress.
