Controversial Rochdale candidate George Galloway's canvassing team appears to have been caught targeting the addresses of muslim voters specifically with election materials about Gaza. Despite Galloway's repeated denials that his campaign is targeting muslim voters in particular, canvassers have been recorded by Byline TV selecting houses to canvas based on a database of constituents filtered by "muslim" voters and then approaching those houses with materials specifically about Gaza. When confronted with evidence, Galloway said "How would I even know that. Filters and this kind of tech is beyond me". Some muslim voters Byline TV spoke to in Rochdale said they felt Galloway was using them in a cynical bid to win the election, one saying "He's using Palestine to get our votes. He's just after the victory to gain money and fame."
