Today I'm going to show you how to replace the lining of a leather jacket. First, I always inspect the jacket to see if I need to replace the entire lining or just certain sections. In this case, it’s a full replacement.

I start by carefully removing the old lining using a seam ripper—stitch by stitch. It’s important not to push too hard with the seam ripper because that can damage the leather. As I take it apart, I mark key points, like where the sleeve meets the shoulder, to make reassembly easier later.

When cutting the new lining, I make sure to lay the old fabric completely flat to get an accurate pattern. I also add a little extra fabric in certain areas. Then, I reattach the original logo—carefully—because a crooked logo is the worst!

During reassembly, the order of stitching is crucial. I take extra care when attaching the sleeves to avoid any twisting, which is a common mistake when doing this for the first time.

Once everything is sewn back together, the jacket is done!
