These days, smaller standing fans are getting popular, with cool HV/tornado fan models and stylish ones from brands like Xiaomi, Sanex, and Mitochiba. But back in the '90s and early 2000s, there were a bunch of brands making smaller standing fans, mostly 12”. Brands like SEKAI, Regency, Shinyoku, and Maspion had several models, including the F-3011 S and its timer version, the F-3012 ST. Each box could come with different grille, blade, and badge variants, which adds a unique touch when buying a Maspion fan.

I got this fan as the last stock item two years ago from the same online store where I bought my second SEKAI 12” stand fan. It was supposed to be BNIB, but since the seller opened it for testing, the box wasn’t sealed. Luckily, there were no scratches or defects, just a few minor scuffs and some dirt from being in storage for a long time.

When I finally got the fan home, I was blown away by how cute it is! Compared to my SEKAI stand fan, this one is much sturdier and heavier. And of course, Maspion’s signature swirl grill is charming. Performance-wise, this fan is probably the quietest 12” stand fan I’ve had, and the airflow is much more stable compared to my SEKAI or Sanex Siwon.

Oh, and don’t forget—older Maspion fans have a reversed speed setting: 1 for High, 2 for Medium, and 3 for Low.
