Exponential Function Word Problems

In this video, we'll tackle real-world problems that can be modeled using exponential functions. Understanding how to apply exponential functions to word problems is a critical skill that will help you see the practical applications of what you're learning in class. We’ll start by focusing on setting up exponential equations from word problems as that will set the stage for the rest of the problem. Identifying key features and unknown variables in each word problem will give us the components we need to build our exponential equation. We then use this exponential function to answer the question being asked in the word problem. Toward the end of the video we add in word problems that are solved using linear equations to add another layer of decision making to the process of solving word problems. A discussion on rounding will also be had throughout this video. With clear explanations and practical examples, you'll gain the skills needed to confidently solve word problems involving exponential functions.
