RoboNav - Alpine Operations

Описание к видео RoboNav - Alpine Operations

In the course of the RoboNav project, autonomous driving tests were conducted in the Seetaler Alps in Austria. The tests were carried out within an operational area of 22 square kilometers, with a 70km long auto-generated roadmap.

Featured in the accompanying video is the tracked Mattro Rovo3 robot, which was outfitted with a uniform mounting frame and additional sensors.
The robot autonomously navigates to the selected goal within the operational area, considering alternative paths and making real-time decisions to avoid obstacles, as demonstrated in the video. Should the
robot encounter an insurmountable obstacle, it will reroute and select an alternative path toward the designated goal.

Two routes were chosen for this study:
- Route 1, with a length of 4.1 km which was completed in 60 minutes
- Route 2 with the length of 1.7 km which was covered in 30 minutes

The navigation software stack for this approach was provided by ARTI.
The project RoboNav was funded by the FFG call ASAP.
