Описание к видео Solo Night Hike ADHD Fundraiser Compilation

For my birthday this year, I did a solo, night hike to raise money for the ADHD Foundation Australia…

The plan for the hike was pretty straightforward…
Leave home in Kedron around sunset on Saturday, hike up to Jolley’s Lookout, Mount Nebo and aim to get back mid-Sunday-morning! I guessed it would end up being about a 16-hour round trip.

Can you imagine hiking through cold, dark, mountains for 16 hours non-stop...!?! It’s by far the longest hike I’ve ever attempted. It's scary and exciting because I didn’t really know how it’s going to go! 😬

The real challenge isn’t just my physical endurance VS. the distance & altitude… the real challenge will be my mental endurance VS. the cold, dark and of course, missing a full night's sleep! 😴

THE CAUSE 🤩

ADHD is a far more widespread and serious (and expensive) problem than many people realise. After reviewing all the support available for people and families living with ADHD in Australia, I can wholeheartedly endorse the ADHD Foundation. Their heart for people and sense of passion and purpose is rare and precious. They really care and they're doing amazing work. 🌟

If you can, please donate a small amount of money (maybe a few dollars - or even just a few cents) for each kilometre I walk, to the ADHD Foundation in support of the extremely valuable and highly underrated work they do in our community. Click here to donate through My Cause https://www.mycause.com.au/p/346210/6... or you can give directly through their website adhdfoundation.org.au

Thank you so much. Your contribution will help to make a real difference (and hopefully make my self-inflicted suffering seem a little less ridiculous)! 🙏

I really appreciate your support and encouragement and your commitment to contribution, service, alleviating human suffering and making the world a better place for all… 💖

BEST ADHD BOOKS
Read these books (or listen to them on Audible) if you or anyone you know has (or acts like they might have) ADHD - they might just change your life! If you've already read any of these, please share your thoughts and of course, let us know about other resources you've found helpful too.

NOTE: Any commissions Amazon pay me for your purchase using these links will go to the ADHD Foundation Australia.

1. ADHD: A Hunter in a Farmer’s World, 3rd Edition by Thom Hartmann, Michael Popkin.

First published in 1992, this book is an absolute classic. I'm not sure if his hunter/farmer hypothesis is technically accurate in an evolutionary biology sense, but it is absolutely the best way I've found to understand how different an ADHD brain really is to a neuro-typical brain. So accurate or not it is an extremely helpful and highly beneficial concept. Get it here... https://amzn.to/4dJ31Pq

2. The Year I Met My Brain: A Travel Companion for Adults Who Have Just Found Out They Have ADHD by Matilda Boseley.

Matilda is brilliant! Smart, witty and full of fun facts and helpful resources especially for Australia (extra love in this one for ADHD women and girls too). https://amzn.to/3K4JDP4

3. ADHD Is AWESOME: A Guide to (Mostly) Thriving with ADHD by Penn Holderness & Kim Holderness.

Just released... I've been hanging out for this one! Penn is hilarious (check out their YouTube) and this book is super engaging and entertaining and packed with helpful and empowering ways to live with your ADHD or better understand and support your ADHD-afflicted/gifted loved ones. https://amzn.to/3K3PQL7

HIKE STATS
No sleep for over 36 hours
Hiked 65.75 km in 16 hours and 21 minutes

Thanks for all your love, support and generosity along the way!
