Word - Transcribe audio and share using Word for the Web

Microsoft Word for the Web allows you to transcribe audio. Word will transcribe speech from an audio file (like a Zoom meeting), into a text transcript with each speaker individually separated. You can use this for meetings or interviews. You have the ability to make edits and corrections to the transcription. You can also save the entire transcript to Word and share it. The audio file is saved in OneDrive. This works in Microsoft 365 for Word's online version. Supported browsers include the new Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.

Example of who would use this Word feature:
Transcribing a Zoom recording. Zoom recordings have an audio-only file that is a .M4A file. You can upload it to Word for the Web.

Upload an audio file

You can upload a pre-recorded audio file and then transcribe the recording. At this time, you're limited to five hours of transcription time per month for uploaded recordings.

1) Go to Home 
2) Click Dictate dropdown
3) Click Transcribe.

Playback the audio
************************
The Transcriber Pane has controls at the top to playback your audio. The relevant transcript section highlights as it plays.
