The Echidna D5HP saw with a flow rate of up to 450 l/min mounted on a 19 t wheeled excavator cut 3 wind turbine blades 78 m long into small pieces.
The saw was equipped with a large diamond blade of a diameter of 2.2 m (with max. cutting depth 900 mm), which is able to cut the entire cross-section of the blade up to nearly two thirds of the full blade length!
The work took just three days and neither the blade nor its segments had to be replaced.
