Thermal Management – Tech Basics | Digi-Key Electronics

There are many ways to keep electronic circuits and devices cool under normal and heavy loads. In this video, the benefits and restrictions of various cooling methods are discussed including cold plates which transfer heat to moving liquids, heat pipes that use a transferable gas, fans and thermal interface material (TIM) for conductive cooling and thermoelectric devices that use semiconductors and a current flow to provide heating or cooling effects.
