In Buddhism, a mandala is the representation of the cosmo, in the form of a diagram, chart, or geometric pattern. The practice of offering mandala was first introduced in Tibet by Drogon Chogyal Phagpa, one of the Five Founding Fathers of Sakya, in the 13th century. He was also the first Imperial Preceptor of Kublai Khan's Yuan dynasty. Later on, the practice of this mandala offering was adopted by all the traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.
In this teaching, His Eminence Khondung Asanga Rinpoche, who is the Sakya lineage holder and also a great great grandson of Drogon Chogyal Phagpa, demonstrates the offering of mandala in accordance with the teaching on it by Dezhung Rinpoche.
