Описание к видео Royal Melbourne Botanic Gardens: eight fabulous cold climate palms!

This week on The Horti-Culturalists, the fourth and final part in our series of videos made in the wonderful Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. And in this episode we're looking at eight fabulous cold climate palms to bring a touch of the tropics to even the chilliest of gardens! The hardiest palm we'll look at in this video can go down to -10C or 14F whilst the others will happily go down to between -7C and 0C or 19.5F to 32F. Many thanks to the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne, and director Tim Entwisle, for allowing us to film. And if you want to plan your trip to the gardens you can here: https://www.rbg.vic.gov.au/
The palms we talk about in this video are:
Chamaerops humilis - Dwarf Fan Palm
Chamaerops humilis var. argentea
Trachycarpus fortunei - Chinese Windmill Palm
Butia odorata - South American Jelly Palm
Jubaea chilensis - Chilean Wine Palm
Caryota obtusa - Giant Fishtail Palm
