The Nigerian government has initiated the allocation of 8,925 houses to deserving applicants nationwide through the National Housing Programme (NHP). Marcus Ogunbiyi, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, made this announcement in a statement issued from Abuja.

Under the "Renewed Hope" agenda, launched on November 1, 2023, the federal government allocated N50 billion to construct 40,000 housing units. The first phase of this allocation process has been successfully completed, following a meticulous review of conditions and procedures governing the sale of houses under the NHP. This milestone marks a significant step towards fulfilling the government's commitment to providing affordable housing and improving living standards across the country.
