honestly I hate the last of us 2 because they killed joel, like how does Neil Cuckman think it's okay to kill off the main guy with Abby, just seems like ND acted without any thought to what we (the REAL fans) want tbh...and then they make Ellie hate joel for some reason like wtf??? literally a bitch to him...

People act like TLOU2 made the end of the first game into a "Joel was wrong!!!!" fest, but that's not true at all. It was never about the "right" or "wrong" choice, it's about the fact that he lied to her.

She wanted to trust and believe him because she felt she could, but he kept lying and lying every time. She had no choice but to be angry and to figure out for herself what happened. I have no doubt that had Joel explained to her as soon as she woke up what happened at the hospital and why, Ellie would've been able to forgive him eventually and things would have turned out differently.

But Joel doesn't do that. He lies because he's afraid of what might happen if she does find out, and he can't risk losing her. He saved her because she became a daughter to him, but he's not the type of person who would ever admit that.

Ellie is mad because she KNOWS he had a reason for lying to her (which is why the end of the first game is her saying "okay" because she wants to believe him) but he won't say it, and what makes it worse is that he is lying to her about a topic so important to her (her immunity) that she thought HER LIFES PURPOSE was to be the cure.

Ellie wants to know WHY she is immune, why she gets to live when everyone else dies. She needed her immunity to mean something. As she says "It can't be for nothing". Why did all those people die of infection but not her? Why is she immune but no one else? If there's no cure like Joel said, why? What really happened at the hospital?

She'll never know if she could have been the cure or not, if that is "why" she got to live while everyone else died. Joel isn't evil or wrong for his decision, because on some levels he's absolutely justified, but he broke her trust.

But no, Ellie's totally unjustified in her hatred for Joel and is a bitch wow tlou2 sucks ass because they killed off my big daddy joel with GOLFER ABBY!! I'm so fucking angry
