Arctic OffRoad September 2020 Stampede Trail Run

We left Fairbanks Saturday morning and drove to Healy to tackle the Stampede Trail and try to make it across the Teklanika River to the site that the bus had rested at for many years, until it was removed by the Alaska State Troopers and the Air National Guard in the summer of 2020.

The weather was cool and there was a small amount of ice on some of the puddles. We did not expect to find as much ice as we did on the way out!

We wound up dragging a vehicle back across the Teklanika River due to a mechanical issue. Everyone made it safely across even though the Xterra had water on top of the hood while crossing the Teklanika River.
