There are countless charms and thrilling surprises to be found in amusement parks across America. This 1999 PBS special program concentrates on smaller parks that are older than Disneyland, places that aren't usually considered "theme parks."

Producer/narrator Rick Sebak takes viewers to 15 parks, celebrating wooden coasters, unusual attractions and vintage rides. Comments from park owners and ride operators are mixed with enthusiastic endorsements and sage advice from park patrons of all ages.
