In this video essay, we are talking about The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, the newest animated feature in the world of Tolkien from Peter Jackson and Philippa Boyens.

This time, the world of Middle Earth is animated, from legendary director Kenji Kamiyama. We follow the kingdom of Rohan, hundreds of years before The Hobbit and the inevitable War of the Ring which we see in the original LOTR trilogy.

We follow Helm Hammerhand (Brian Cox), his daughter Hera (Gaia Wise), as they face off against Wulf (Luke Pasqualino).

And...this movie was pretty terrible. SOme people will call it girlboss, and woke, and a loreshattering nightmare, but I want to just focus on the quality of the film itself...which was lacking.
