b) OIL FLUSHING & PRESSURE TESTING

After the chemical Flushing Process, Wintech team made the Flushing of Hydraulic pipes to the required cleanliness level using Wintech Equipment and Manpower.
• Looped pipelines of same size in series at the ends and connected the flushing unit to looped lines.
• Fill the pipeline with 32 Grade oil through the flushing unit or any other means to fill the pipelines.
• Disconnected the filling point from Pipeline and connected to Hand Pump fitted with a pressure gauge.
• Pressurized the pipelines by stroking the Hand Pump gradually and stopped at an increase of pressure and checked for leaks while stopped.
• Stroke Hand Pump till such timelines reached required test pressure and stopped stroking. Hold pressure for about half an hour. Upon the pipelines being leak free pressure released and line to be ready for oil flushing
• Hook up an Oil cleanliness monitor on the return path for checking the cleanliness level of the oil getting flushed.
• Filled 32 Grade oil and started flushing unit and check for leakages
• Use hammering process externally at given intervals on the lines getting flushed to remove slags and other debris to run thru the flow of oil to get trapped in the filter.
• Continue flushing and check at regular intervals the cleanliness monitors for the readings and same recorded.
• Monitor pump flow at regular intervals and checked turbulence in the lines getting flushed
• Changed filter elements whenever required
• Upon oil reaching the required cleanliness level, the flushing unit stopped.
• Disconnected the flushing unit from the pipeline, connected Nitrogen cylinder and purged out oil and reinstated pipelines to original position.
