"I've turned down my friends at Golden State, the Detroit Pistons, Atlanta. I mean, I can keep going, you know? Um, I don't know. I think it would be intriguing for if the only team I would actually probably think about is the New York Knicks. I think because the way the fans love basketball and I think that would, you might have to think about that one. And because I love coming to New York and going to the Garden and watching the Knicks play. I love being with fans who are so passionate about their team. And the Knick fans are passionate and they're smart. They're smart basketball fans. And so that one I would have to think about, I think that, um. Other than that, I would probably never think about ever being a part of another franchise."

"Because it's the Mecca. And I think that, um. You know, you say, wow, I would have to think about that one. That one you really would have to think about in terms of being a, you know, a minority owner of that team. But other than that, I would just stay with the Lakers. And even with my role now, just being a fan, I'm happy with just doing that with the Lakers because again, I believe purple and gold. And so I'm always just cheer for my organization and I'm excited about, like I said, what they're building with the Lakers and the direction they."

"I've been bringing different situations to the community for years. I've always been an advocate when it comes to health. I've always talked about whether it was HIV and AIDS and now the. And so it's really important that I come to the people. It's one thing to do a commercial. It's another thing to be live and in person and shake people's hands and really tell them. It is important that you go and get your physicals. Go talk to your health care provider or pharmacist or your doctor about RSV and what you should look out for. Right. And so very important."

STORYLINE:
Magic Johnson's love for his Los Angeles Lakers has kept him from considering ownership of any other NBA team.

The New York Knicks would be the one franchise that could make him reconsider.

“I think it would be intriguing,” Johnson said Tuesday. “The only team I would actually probably think about is the New York Knicks.”

Johnson arrived in New York for a speaking engagement at a YMCA from Washington, where the member of the Commanders' new ownership group watched his NFL team lose to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Once back in Los Angeles, he will gear up for his Dodgers to begin play in baseball's postseason. But the basketball Hall of Famer repeatedly has passed on opportunities for ownership in the sport he knows best.

Johnson named the Golden State Warriors, Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks as teams he turned down, rather than find himself in competition with the Lakers. The Knicks, though, offer something different.



But if the conversation did happen, Johnson would listen.
