Van Brussel naar Vilvoorde , met de waterbus

Ze gaven prachtig weertje vandaag, dus we trokken richting Brussel, om daar voor de eerste keer eens de Waterbus te nemen naar Vilvoorde.

De Waterbus is een intergewestelijke, klokvaste en filevrije ‘buslijn’ op het water die je toelaat op een comfortabele en aangename wijze te verplaatsen in de kanaalzone tussen Brussel, Schaarbeek, Neder-Over-Heembeek en Vilvoorde, nu gekenmerkt door grote mobiliteitsproblemen, die in de toekomst nog groter dreigen te worden.

De Waterbus versterkt op de eerste plaats de mobiliteit van voetgangers en fietsers in de kanaalzone. Het is een multi-functioneel en attractief vervoermiddel gericht op winkelen, recreatie, toerisme, woon-werkverkeer,... Wie wenst kan aan boord ontbijten, de krant lezen, vergaderen of gewoon genieten. De fiets kan steeds mee aan boord van de Waterbus.

Je kan in- en ontschepen op één van de haltes naar keuze, die elk aansluiting geven op clusters van het openbaar vervoer, winkelconcentraties, kantoor- en evenementenlocaties, bedrijven en bestaande en toekomstige wooncentra en bus- en autoparkings aan de rand van de stad. De Waterbus zorgt er voor dat je stressvrij je bestemming bereikt.

Eng: The weather was beautiful today, so we headed for Brussels to take the Waterbus to Vilvoorde for the first time.

The Waterbus is an inter-regional, punctual and congestion-free 'bus line' on the water that allows you to travel comfortably and pleasantly in the canal zone between Brussels, Schaarbeek, Neder-Over-Heembeek and Vilvoorde, which is currently characterised by major mobility problems that are likely to become even more so in the future.

In the first place, the Waterbus enhances the mobility of pedestrians and cyclists in the canal zone. It is a multi-functional and attractive means of transport aimed at shopping, recreation, tourism, commuting, etc. Whoever wants to can have breakfast on board, read the paper, have a meeting or just enjoy the ride. Bicycles can always be taken on board the Waterbus.
