Actor, writer and theatre artist Olwen Fouéré talks about her career and how she likes to challenge the audience in a feature for RTE's arts show The Works. This was broadcast 28th February 2014 in the week that she was honoured with a Special Tribute at The Irish Times Theatre Awards. Having worked with major stars of stage and screen such as Sean Penn, Ray McAnally and Owen Roe, Olwen's characters have always pushed the boundaries of convention, fascinating audiences and bringing them into her world. Here she talks about her work and approach to acting. She also outlines her progression from acting to directing and producing in her adaptation of Finnegan's Wake for her one woman show Riverrun.
