"Euphoria" star Sydney Sweeney is obsessed with restoring vintage cars. And at the age of 24, she's only getting started.
So far, Sweeney says she has two vintage cars.
"I got a 1969 Bronco, all original, and I got it off an auction site," she said. "For a good year, I was fixing up the car. It was a stick, and my mom was so mad at me because I'm changing the transmission to automatic."
The change was necessary, she says, because of LA's notoriously rude drivers. Each time she had to change gears in a hilly area, her Bronco would roll back.
"People will just honk at me and I'm like, 'I'm not going to move until so you go around because I will hit your car.' And they're just rude. So I was like, 'I want this to be my daily driver.' So sadly, I changed the transmission and I did it myself," she said.
For a while Sweeney thought about painting the Bronco her favorite color _ baby blue _ but that the price she was quoted was $35,000.
"I was like, 'No, I could get a different car for that much money.' And then literally a couple of months later, I bought myself a baby blue 1965 Mustang off the auction site for less than what it would have been to paint the Bronco. And I was like, 'Two for one!'" she said.
So how many cars does she have. It depends whether you ask her or her brother Trent Sweeney.
On top of the Mustang and Bronco, Sweeney has a Range Rover. And then there's her sentimental favorite.
"There is a family car, it's our Land Cruiser. It's the car that I was brought home from the hospital in, he was brought home from the hospital in," she said. "It was the first car I drove when I was 16 and then when my brother turned 16, they gave it to him and I was so mad because I was like, 'This is my car.' And to this day, I say it's still my car. So four cars. Get that, Trent."
Sweeney will appear in the second season of "Euphoria" this month. She is also known for her roles in "The White Lotus," "The Handmaid's Tale," and "The Voyeurs."
