About the Speaker
Dr. Pascale Gaudet has been working as a biocurator since 2003, first with the Model Organism Database dictyBase at Northwestern University (Chicago), during which she became heavily involved in the Gene Ontology project, especially in the phylogenetic annotation aspect. In October 2010, Dr. Gaudet became the scientific manager of the neXtProt database at the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (Switzerland).

Pascale Gaudet is also one of the founding members of the International Society for Biocuration (ISB) and the Chairperson from 2009-2013. The ISB is a professional association that aims to facilitate interactions between biologists and computer scientists developing biological databases and related resources. The larger goal is to improve the overall quality of the resources, ensure their stability, and encourage the continued recruitment of high quality scientists to the field.
