The International Criminal Court 2002–2020: A Court in Practice

Where and how has the International Criminal Court (ICC) strengthened the common fight against impunity? What have been the achievements and what are the contributions to the international legal order?

This conference discussed and dissected the achievements of the Court's practice over the past 20 years. It reflected on the goals, objectives and ultimate focus of the ICC. International experts and practictioners identified the strengths and weaknesses of the ICC fighting impunity, from the outset until 2022, reflecting on the ICC set up, the results achieved, the Nuremberg Principles and the Nuremberg legacy.

This three-day event took place on 13, 14 and 15 October 2022.

The Nuremberg Forum 2022 was organised as a hybrid event. The speakers and a limited number of participants gathered at Courtroom 600 of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice. An interactive online platform allowed broad attendance including interactive engagement. Prior registration was required.
