The Nardaran Case: 270 Years in Prison

It was the biggest case in Azerbaijani history in terms of the total length of the sentences: 270 years... 17 people charged under 20 different article of the criminal code. Almost 100 defense motions rejected by the court... On 25 January, 2017, proclaimed the "Year of Islamic Solidarity" by President Ilham Aliyev, each religious believer arrested in Nardaran received a minimum sentence of 10 years.
