We were all expecting (but not necessarily happy about) the FCC to announce DJI and Autel drones being added to their "Covered Entities List" on December 23rd of this year. However, in an unprecedented overreach of authority, the Federal Government via the Federal Communications Commission and Brendan Carr announced a day early that not only would DJI and Autel drones be added to the Covered Entities List, but ALL foreign-made drones and critical drone components would also be added to the list pending exceptions made by the Department of Defense (War) and/or the Department of Homeland Security.

This announcement and drastic departure from the "international UAS cooperation" narrative of the last 5 years has rocked the US drone industry to its core. What does this modified action by the Trump Regime mean for drone pilots on the ground level and the larger future of drones in the United States?
