This is a basic pak sau, tan sau and pak da hand speed fluidity drill to help students get used to occupying the centerline with their hands as defenses passing and transferring to each other in one fluid motion. This allows for a better feel of energy being received and controlled while opening an attack. Of course three parries are not needed in a real situation but it is simply a drill to learn how to flow and pass the hand to create the desired line of attack while dominating the center to avoid counter attack. This movement has many follow ups and can take years to fully master but once totally comfortable can be unleashed without thinking but by highly developed reaction time and feel. Just as Sijo Bruce said; "Don't Think.... Feel!!"
