With this small line the luff tension of the sail can be adjusted within limits of the Class Rules )C.R. 6.6.3.1.)
In light wind when the sprit and the vang are looser, the cunningham has to be twisted several times so that the luff tension gets less, and force can be gained.
In stronger wind the luff tension must be more tight. So some twists can be let out.
