Описание к видео How Three Words Changed My Life Forever | ALEX PARRA | TEDxCMU

Alex was 15 years old when he was diagnosed with Stage 2 bone cancer. After numerous rounds of chemotherapy and one amputation, he beat cancer in March of 2017. The disease, however, isn't technically considered "gone" until you're 5 years into remission. In 2018, two years after his first diagnosis, Alex was re-diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. In this talk, Alex discusses how he has been able to adapt to a new normal and maintain a positive outlook on life, as well as the role he now plays as a disability advocate. Alex is a motivational speaker, former US Para swimmer, and two-time cancer survivor. He had his leg amputated when he was sixteen, but that hasn’t stopped his positive outlook and adventurous spirit. Through his content, Alex showcases his incredible resilience and encourages others to embrace their uniqueness. Alex aims to raise awareness for disabilities, inspiring & encouraging others to defy the odds, one day at a time. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
