John Wycliffe was a 14th Century philosopher and theologian responsible for the famous Wycliffe Bible, a very early translation of the Bible into English. John Wycliffe and his Bible are often seen as forerunners of the reformation, earning him the name 'Morningstar'. Would you like to see the full film? John Wycliffe was a bold and radical character who challenged the established church for it's wealth and power, believing that the Word of God should be accessible and available to people in their native language, and it is thought that he personally translated the four Gospels into Middle English from the Latin Vulgate, and possibly even the entire New Testament himself.
