In this math video we will find a unit rate using a complex fraction. We will be presented with a rate with two fractional parts. We will write the rate as a ratio. We will understand that a fraction bar can be rewritten using a division symbol. We will review how to divide fractions using the multiply by the reciprocal rule - sometimes learned as keep, change, flip. We will review the meaning of reciprocal. We will multiply fractions by multiplying the numerators and then multiplying the denominators. We will rewrite the product from an improper fraction to a mixed number to identify the solution. An exemplar solution is modeled and explained.
