l) Purpose: To diagnose Urinary tract infection (UTI)
(Bacteriuria)
يجب أن تكون عدد المستعمرات أكبر أو تساوي 100.000 CFU/ml
Pyuria: Pus in urine
اكبر من 10cell/ HPF
(Significant Bacteriuria) اي

Il) Urine Culture Specimen
- Mid stream urine
- Catheterization
- Suprapubic aspiration
How to collect mid stream urine:
1. Wash and dry your hands.
2. Clean genital area.
3. Remove the lid on the container.
4. Pass a small amount of urine into the toilet.
5. Mid stream urine
6. Pass the reimaging urine into the toilet.

III) Methods:
1. Mix Mid stream urine
2. Inoculation & incubation
3. Examination
4. Count the growth colonies.

IV) Interpretation
UTI = Significant bacteriuria (100.000CFU/ml)

Sterile pyuria: pus without any bacterial growth in ordinary media.
من اسباب حدوث هذا
1.Taking antibiotics
2. Renal tuberculosis
3.Renal stones
4. Organism not grow on ordinary media ( Mycoplasma, L. form bacteria, Anaerobic infection)
