Thank you for watching ‘Raining in Dunoon’. Cowal Elderly Befrienders SCIO is a charity based in Dunoon in Scotland providing a range of services designed to improve the quality of life for isolated elderly people and keep them independent and active in the communities they helped to create.

We operate across the Cowal peninsula of Argyll in the west of Scotland and provide an additional service on the island of Bute, which is known as Bute Elderly Befrienders.

‘Raining in Dunoon’ was written and performed by Cowal Elderly
Befrienders. The majority of contributors to this charity project had no previous prior professional musical experience. One of them, however, performed with the Ivy Benson All Girl Orchestra in Berlin in 1945. We believe that her contribution to ‘Raining in Dunoon’ is her first recording engagement since 1962!
