【Studio "Syrup Comfiture"】 High Jump Love 「綾倉盟(Mei Ayakura)」

This time it’s not just the title of the album that is ‘over,’ the meaning of the word bears a bit more importance than it did previously for another matter altogether.

If you’re unsure of what I’m getting at, I’ll just cut to the chase. As of Thursday 3rd November 2022, Syrufit personally announced that Studio "Syrup Comfiture" will stop all activities related to the circle from December 1st 2022. Yes you heard that right, Studio "Syrup Comfiture" will cease to exist in less than a months time…

Even if there has been little to no activity in the circle for a while now, it’s still sad for this news to be finally confirmed after all these years of hoping and waiting for something to occur. I suppose ending it now rules out any speculation of future endeavours of any sort under the circle’s name, some would argue it should’ve been announced way sooner. Syrufit has at least said that it’s not the end of their musical journey as they’ll keep making music under the name ‘Syrufit’ going forward, which is easy enough to follow! I think the direction of music will differ from what we may expect as rock is mentioned alongside a hint that EDM is anything but a main priority, and it also seems that this new direction won’t be Touhou based either, although it’s hinted that occasional Touhou related music may still happen at some point. I’m intrigued as to what’ll come from all this, I’ll certainly keep an eye on it.

Studio "Syrup Comfiture" has been one of the most amazing musical journeys I’ve personally encountered, I’m so glad that I was recommended the circle by a few of you absolute legends in the comments to look properly into their works when I was stumped for upload ideas, I don’t know what life would be like without taking that step, or the state of the channel for that matter! Some of the songs I’ve encountered I’ll cherish dearly for the rest of my life as those songs hold a dear sense of comfort and light in a very dark and depressing world.

All I can really say is a massive thank you to Syrufit and to everyone you collaborated with to make Studio "Syrup Comfiture" such a legendary project, the immense talent that such few people possessed was and is mind-blowing, a truly amazing bunch of arrangers, lyricists and vocalists who seamlessly worked together on all so many legendary tracks. Thank you, thank you all so much.

Let’s not become weighed down with sadness as now is as good a time as any to celebrate what makes us love this circle so dearly, so let’s join Syrufit, Poplica* and the amazing Mei Ayakura(綾倉盟) as they Master Spark to their heart’s content!
