This video took me about a month to make. Most of that was spent waiting on parts. BMW's are not a brand that I work on often. But I have a long time customer that wanted me to give it a once over. Before I knew it I was in over my head in coolant leak problems. I made the mistake of watching a couple of videos and thinking this would be easy. So what started as a simple job of knock sensors and a spark plug tune up quickly turned into tearing apart most of the front and top of the engine. Now that it's all said and done, I can add sawing into a BMW engine to my resume. This is one of those jobs that's a little nerve racking and very frustrating. But if you can manage through it you will save yourself about 8 thousand dollars in labor. I think I am just glad to have it finally out of my shop. For two weeks straight I was finding something else that needed to be replaced or breaking something. It will be awhile before I agree to work on one of these again..
